The first time Lindsay Miller and I facilitated our Sex and Money retreat people were shocked.
The retreat name can push quite a few buttons.
After we explained that it has nothing to do with having Sex for Money, and all about unlocking the places in woman that have been controlled and squished by the patriarchy, people took notice.
Several woman asked us to do the retreat again. So, we did.
This year was our fourth Sex and Money retreat. This year, we have added an element to continue to break barriers and stretch the freedom of the women who attend.
This year, we are sharing a few of the photos with you. As each of these women proudly share their magic, their power, their pleasure with you, please take a moment to send them love, appreciation and validation.
Being seen is part of the healing. Being honored for one’s vulnerability, as well as for one’s power, heals the planet.
Tanya arrived at the event excited and friendly. But under the surface was a tightly held ball of rage.
She had explained that it was hard to be with other people for long periods of time. Keeping all of her walls up and her rage contained was a big energy suck, and it took all her energy; so, just being on retreat was a BIG DEAL.
I have been coaching Tanya for several months. I knew that she was ready to let go of a lifetime of holding her emotions at bay. All of her anger from her childhood wounding, all of her bitterness from adults letting her down when it was most important, all of the people-pleasing that had led her to a career that wasn’t what she would have chosen for herself… all of this was prime for releasing.
And so… we let her….
As Tanya cracked her whip, her true self, magical and powerful, emerged. As the rage left her, her body relaxed into the holding of her sisters. For the first time in a long time, she was able to feel true pleasure…
… The touch of a feather on her arm
… the taste of chocolate on her tongue
… the safe hug of her friend
In the next photoshoot, Tanya took charge. She asked for the music she wanted played. She danced around the room in the ways her body wanted to move. She laughed, she flirted with the camera, then she allowed her magic to fill the room.
We all felt it.
We all were enriched by it.
This is a woman who is pursuing a new way, her way. Who is now being guided by her connection to her body, her soul and her own knowing. She is doing new work, that fills her with purpose and joy. She is finding new pleasure in her relationship. She has arrived!
