Attending a retreat entitled Sex and Money was a stretch for RoseAnne.
She knows a lot about how to make money and sex… well, that comes naturally right?
Yet, what we do in our Sex and Money retreat is more. We begin by exploring the unseen rules and beliefs that our society has placed on women around both sex and money. How women’s pleasure is demonized as slutty. How money is twisted to be the root of evil. How these beliefs keep women small and powerless, needing men to provide and approve of them.
And even when a woman has success, deep down there are still some remnants of these patriarchal rules of control.
What, Lindsay and I thought, would happen if we freed women from these beliefs. What would be possible for us, or loved ones, the world?
RoseAnne stepped fully into our questions. What is possible for her?
I’ve known RoseAnne for years. She is smart, intuitive and beautiful. But after a heartbreaking divorce, she wasn’t sure of any of those things anymore. She had put up walls around her heart and questioned if she ever could be loved.
At the beginning of our retreat she sat with arms crossed in front of her, protecting her vulnerable self. Yet, she had committed to play full out, so she lowered her arms and took the center of the room. With all of our attention on her, and Lindsay’s camera capturing the moment, her lip trembled. She began to cry. All of the pain of the past tumbled out with her tears.
We gathered it up and laid it on a sacred fire in the spirit realms. She sobbed as the flames took her pain, her doubt, her bitterness.
And her sexy magic started to shine.
We played her favorite music and her hips swayed. As she danced, she was liberated. The chains of past relationships fell away, the invisibility vows from past lives dissolved, the societal rules about being “a good girl” were revealed and released.
She remembered the Divine Feminine power that resides in her second chakra.
She reveled in her pleasure, her sexiness, her magic.
We reveled with her.
