Guess who had “buy a new fridge” on their 2025 bingo card? That’s right. Me.
After spending Monday afternoon researching refrigerators that would fit, were the right color, and that I could get ASAP, my husband and I spent our evening at Home Depot making the purchase. The whole process took me back several years ago to when we bought our washer/dryer.
It was the same situation. Appliances we depended on had suddenly just stopped working. There was no time to budget and save money. We needed them right away.
I sat at Home Depot feeling so grateful that I had the credit to purchase new ones…. And the income to make payments without sweating about it. That would not have been true a few years before.
And this time, I was prepared to pay for the refrigerator up front with money sitting in my bank account.
Now, new appliances may not seem like a big deal; however, this illustrates how my relationship with money has grown, and with it, my net worth.
When I left my first husband in 2000, I couldn’t buy a new pair of tennis shoes. I wore the ones I had, even though the soles were wearing through and there were holes in the canvas.
I decided that I was tired of being a victim to my money story. I was ready to change things.
I read every book I could find about the energy of money. I hired high-end coaches to teach me money practices. I started having conversations with money, learning from the energy itself.
Things changed.
So much so that when a townhome in the complex I had longed to live in came up for sale a few years ago, I was able to manifest the down payment and a 7-week remodel in just five weeks.
