I’ve been thinking a lot about what is working in the world of business, and what is crumbling.
I can tell you clearly, what worked a year ago, five years ago, and for generations before us, simply doesn’t work anymore.
We are living in a time of cracking open. Of letting go of old formulas. Of rewriting the rules in our own voice and forging new pathways through dense underbrush.
Some days, it can feel really unnerving. The foundation beneath everything we were taught about success, money, visibility, leadership, and growth feels shaky. And most of the time, we can’t see much further than the next step.
And, in a strange and sacred way, that’s good.
Because let’s be honest. Those old ways never really worked that well for most women anyway.
They asked us to push past our physical limits and to ignore our desires. To follow patriarchal formulas that ignored our Divine Feminine wisdom and connection to Source. To build businesses that measured success in terms of how tired, overworked and productive we were, versus joy filled, juicy and soul-stirring.
And to never be happy with money…
So, if the old way is falling apart, the deeper question becomes:
What does work now?
Here are three signs the patriarchal business model is still running your business, even while your soul is longing for something more sacred, more honest, and more alive. And some tips on what to do instead.
1. Your nervous system is always “on.”
Even as you rest, part of you is braced. You can’t fully exhale.
You dream about business trips gone wrong, money disappearing, the “competition” stealing your best ideas.
It takes the first three days of vacation to even enjoy the view without the thought creeping in, “but I should be doing something”.
And the moment you turn off your computer for the night, you are making a mental list of all the things you didn’t do that day.
This costs you your connection to the Divine and the quiet dream space, where new ideas are born, spiritual client connections begin, and the energy of money teaches you how to open your channels of receiving.
Begin by taking one day a month and setting it aside as sacred dreaming time. Start the day by connecting with your Highest Self, your guides and guardians, your Akashic Record Keepers and all of your unseen helpers.
Walk in nature, feeling the energy of Mama Earth, the trees, the stones, the animal beings that share this space.
Take a long bath, allowing your thoughts to wander down the pathway of what if… and what else is possible.
Update your money inflow plan with new ideas, new products, new programs. You don’t have to add income numbers yet, just add the idea and allow it to sprout.
Share your desires with a trusted mentor or business sister. Allow your desires space to breathe and be.
2. You measure your worth by output.
f you do not post, sell, launch, or produce, you feel like you are failing. Your business day starts early, breaks for dinner with the family, then continues after everyone else is tucked into bed.
You were taught to ramp up and push, push, push.
It’s a hamster wheel of bitter action that never seems to be enough.
It’s NOT the way women were designed to work.
We are cyclical creatures designed to work in cycles of dream, produce, reflect, rest. Y
You can often match these rhythms to the cycles of the moon. The waxing moon holds your building and creating while the full moon calls you to more visibility and deeper offerings. The waning moon is about clearing and completion. And the new moon opens space for rest, receiving messages from Source and setting powerful intentions.
Your personal cycle may dance with the moon.
It may also move in its own sacred rhythm.
I once had a client who operated a full week ahead of the moon. Once she understood that, everything softened. She stopped judging herself for being “off” and started honoring the wisdom moving through her.
It is so important to know your own cycle. To rest and receive during your dark moon. To shine visibly during your full moon.
To create when your body and soul are ready to create and to pause when your inner wisdom asks you to pause.
When you honor your body and soul rhythm, your channels of receiving open more naturally. Money has more room to flow and support your abundant life.
Your business begins to breathe with you, instead of demanding that you abandon yourself to keep it alive.
3. Money feels like it comes from pressure, not partnership.
You can make it, but it costs you. It costs your joy, your time, your body, your relationships.
Here is the truth.
This is all lower vibration masculine energy. It comes with a bully push, the cruel voice in your head, and the feeling that you are failing… everywhere.
And the Feminine does not respond to force. She does not open the channels of receiving when she is being commanded, shamed, or driven into exhaustion.
Money is not meant to be earned through self-abandonment.
You were designed to create through rhythm, devotion, intuition, and aligned action.
That is not lazy.
It’s ancient. It’s sacredThat is the way women have created, tended, nourished, led, and called life into form for generations.
So, begin there.
Begin by getting to know Money as an energy.
- Ask Money what it wants you to understand.
- Ask where you are pushing it away.
- Ask where you are gripping too tightly.
- Ask where you are refusing to receive.
You might write letters to Money.
You might sit quietly with your hands on your heart and invite Money to speak.
You might notice how your body feels when you pay a bill, receive a payment, open your bank account, or make an offer.
Let Money teach you.
Let it show you where your energy is tangled in fear, pressure, obligation, or old vows of sacrifice. Then, little by little, begin to align with the vibration of appreciation, respect, circulation, and receiving.
Money responds to relationship.
The more you come into right relationship with Money, the more naturally your channels of receiving can open.
The more your channels open, the more abundance has room to find you, bless you, and move through your sacred work.
