This morning I pulled a Goddess card, Nut, the ancient Egyptian Goddess of rebirth.
As I sit with her energy, I am reminded that rebirth asks something of us. It invites us to release that which has completed its purpose so that something new will emerge.
Sometimes what emerges is a belief.
Sometimes it is an identity.
Sometimes it is a story that we have carried for so long that we mistake it for truth.
The Record Keepers have been talking to me about this a lot lately.
I am fully in the grandmother season of life. No longer the maiden nor the mother, I’m called fully into the role of wisdom keeper. The years have gifted me wisdom, perspective, and stories gathered from decades of living, loving, succeeding, failing, healing, and beginning again.
As I sat in meditation, I asked a simple question. “What is ready to be released?”
The Record Keepers pointed me toward childhood. Toward memories wrapped in the soft sepia tones of time. Toward experiences that seemed small when they happened yet shaped the way I moved through the world.
One of the places our Money Codes hide is in childhood memories, like short film strips anchored into our being.
Many of us learned lessons about money long before we earned our first dollar.
Maybe you were lucky. Your parents taught you that money is abundant when used with care and gratitude. That it could be a loving partner in manifesting your dreams.
Or perhaps you had parents who always worried about the bills. Who always seemed stressed around money.
And sometimes the lessons came from our own first experiences with money. A lemonade stand that failed or a sibling who stole your birthday cash.
One of my own Money Codes came from my little sister.
She was a talented thief. If I wanted to keep my money, I had to hide it well. If she took it, I couldn’t prove it, and there were rarely consequences.
As a child, I made meaning out of those experiences. Part of me learned that what belonged to me wasn’t always safe to keep. Part of me learned to expect loss. Part of me learned that I wasn’t clever enough to keep my own money.
Children are brilliant meaning-makers. They create explanations for the world around them, always focused on themselves as the cause.
Children unconsciously create issues with boundaries, trust and self-belief.
