The more I work with clients to uncover and rewrite their Money Codes, the more important I understand this work to be.
I’ve observed a woman realize that every time her income increased, she immediately found a reason to spend the extra money, because holding more felt uncomfortable. I’ve observed another recognize that she kept her prices low because women in her family had been taught that being a good person meant giving more than you received. It was a badge of honor. I’ve seen women hesitate to become more visible because some part of them was still following an old instruction to stay small and not attract too much attention because that is what gets women burned at the stake.
These codes affect our ability to receive.
Every time I help a woman clear one money code, I understand more deeply how changing our Money Codes can help put more money into the hands of more women. Frankly, what could be more magical than that?
Because money gives women choice.
A woman with money has freedom to decide whether a relationship, a job, or a place she lives is right for her. She has resources to leave when something is no longer healthy, to get help when she needs it, and to create a life based on what she truly desires.
Money also gives us greater capacity to do the work that fills our witchy hearts with joy.
It pays for the assistant who gives you back five hours a week. It funds the retreat where someone has a life-changing experience. It lets you hire the photographer, take the training, support your family, donate generously to a cause you love, and bring your soul work to more people.
Money becomes a partner in the life and mission you are creating.
And women with resources have influence. We fund businesses and organizations we believe in, support people doing important work, and take our seats where decisions are being made.
The truth is, women with money will save the world.
Which brings me back to those dang Money Codes.
The Record Keepers have shown me six layers of Money Codes that influence our relationship with money and receiving. They can be carried through our ancestry, absorbed from our families and culture, created through childhood experiences, or connected to other lifetimes and our Soul Mission.
These codes create rules that can become so familiar we barely notice them.
One might say, Don’t earn more than your husband.
Another might whisper, People won’t like you if you become too successful.
You might carry a rule that says, Good women don’t care about money, or If I charge that much, people will think I’m greedy.
There may even be a deeply buried instruction that says, Being visible is dangerous.
Then you sit down to write the email announcing your new program and suddenly decide the offer needs another month of work.
You think about raising your price and immediately start calculating how many people won’t be able to afford you. A potential client asks how she can work with you, and instead of confidently telling her, you start explaining all the less expensive options.
That’s what makes these Codes so sneaky.
They can look like perfectly reasonable decisions while they quietly impede the flow of abundance.
The Record Keepers continue to bring me back to the abundance of Source. Our desires, gifts, creativity, relationships, work, and money are all part of the physical experience we came here to have.
Being well supported gives us room to create more of that experience.
For me, that looks like a healthy bank account, people on my team who are brilliant at what they do, wonderful clients, time with my grandkids, travel, beautiful experiences with my husband, and the freedom to keep creating work that lights me up.
Your version gets to look like your version.
