Yet, what I have discovered over the years is something much deeper.
Money is shaped by the internal codes we carry.
These Money Codes live in our DNA, our memories, our ancestral patterns, and the energetic records of our soul. They quietly influence how much money we allow ourselves to receive. And until we see them, they keep running invisibly in the background.
While I was exploring my Family Money Codes, which are stored in our memories, I replayed the images of my very first business.
I was five years old. I had set up a lemonade stand in the front yard. I was a very serious little entrepreneur. My little sister was toddling around, begging for free lemonade. But I was a businesswoman. I refused.
Then my best friend walked over. She grabbed a cup, poured herself a glass of lemonade, and drank it without even acknowledging my business model. What I did not realize at the time was that my grandfather had been filming the whole thing on his home video camera.
The look on my face was so funny that this moment became a family favorite. Every time the projector came out, that clip would play again.
And again.
And again.
I remember the shock. I remember the laughter. And somewhere inside that little girl, an unconscious rule was written about the connection between business and friendship and money.
The rule said:
You have to allow your friends to have your services for free, to have access to your best work without reciprocity. This is what makes friendship with you worthwhile.
That Money Code stayed with me.
Years later it showed up again when someone I considered a dear friend began undercutting my offers. She sold the same programs that I was selling to my clients she met through my live event. But at a lower price. And I allowed it because… she needed the money and I was a good friend.
Uggh… finally I realized that she was not being a good friend to me. I rewrote my internal coding around friendship and business directly into my Akashic Records. Rules that honor both my friends and myself.
And that, my love, is why doing the work to uncover your Money Codes is so important.
Because so many of the rules shaping our money were written long ago within childhood moments,ancestral survival patterns, and in the spells society writes to keep us small and compliant.
